Planning a 2027 wedding in New Mexico? Whether you're getting married at a Santa Fe resort, a Taos destination venue, an East Mountains property, or a ranch outside Albuquerque, a Tequila Burro is an easy way to add something local and memorable to the day. PLEASE NOTE: we are the most requested burro company in New Mexico- even if you are "just thinking about it" please submit a availability request so we can pencil you in on the calendar!

Burro & Company brings friendly pack burros to weddings throughout New Mexico. Outfitted with traditional pack saddles and serving baskets, our burros can carry tequila, margaritas, beer, canned drinks, mocktails, sparkling water, or other beverages during cocktail hour or the reception.

A New Mexico Tradition With a Twist

Burros have been part of New Mexico and Southwestern history for centuries. Introduced to the region by the Spanish, they became important working animals for miners, ranchers, settlers, and travelers.

Our Tequila Burros are a modern take on that history. Instead of mining supplies, they're carrying the drinks.

For couples planning a New Mexico destination wedding, it's a fun way to incorporate local history and Western culture into the celebration.

Tequila Burros for Santa Fe Weddings

Santa Fe is one of the Southwest's best-known destination wedding locations, with adobe architecture, mountain views, historic properties, and beautiful outdoor venues.

A Tequila Burro works particularly well during cocktail hour at Santa Fe-area venues such as Bishop's Lodge, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe, La Posada de Santa Fe, and La Fonda on the Plaza.

For couples wanting to get outside downtown Santa Fe, Blame Her Ranch near Ribera offers a private ranch setting with mountain views and space for a full wedding weekend.

Albuquerque, Corrales & Placitas Weddings

We also serve weddings throughout the Albuquerque area.

Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa at Santa Ana Pueblo is a natural fit for a Tequila Burro, especially for outdoor cocktail hours and New Mexico destination weddings.

Other options around the metro include The Hacienda in Placitas, venues in Corrales, Albuquerque resorts and hotels, and private ranches throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Tijeras & East Mountains Weddings

The East Mountains and Tijeras area are great options for couples looking for pine trees, cooler temperatures, and an outdoor setting close to Albuquerque.

Nature Pointe Weddings & Events in Tijeras is an established indoor/outdoor wedding venue and a natural setting for a burro. Farther south, Manzano Mountain Retreat offers another option for couples looking for a mountain wedding setting.

A Tequila Burro fits mountain and ranch venues particularly well because the experience feels at home in the landscape.

Taos Destination Weddings

We're also available for 2027 weddings in Taos and Northern New Mexico.

The Stakeout in Ranchos de Taos offers a dramatic high-desert setting with Sangre de Cristo Mountain views. Hotel Luna Mystica offers a completely different Taos experience with vintage trailers, camping, open skies, and a laid-back setting.

Taos is also a great place to build a full destination wedding weekend around food, art, outdoor activities, and Northern New Mexico culture.

Ranch Weddings Were Made for Burros

Some of our favorite events are New Mexico ranch weddings.

Properties such as Blame Her Ranch and other private ranches around Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos, and the East Mountains give couples room to create a less formal wedding experience.

A burro can greet guests, mingle during cocktail hour, pose for photos, or carry drinks as guests move between the ceremony and reception.

More Than Tequila

Despite the name, your Tequila Burro doesn't have to serve tequila. Our burros can carry:

·        Tequila or margaritas

·        Beer and canned cocktails

·        Champagne

·        Mocktails and sparkling water

·        Wedding favors

·        Snacks or desserts

·        Customized items for your guests

Alcohol is provided by the client, venue, or caterer, making it easy for us to work alongside your existing bar service.

Add a Guided Burro Hike to Your Wedding Weekend

For destination weddings, Burro & Company also offers guided burro hikes and private pack-burro experiences. These can be added to a Santa Fe, Albuquerque, East Mountains, Taos, or Northern New Mexico wedding weekend.

Take the wedding party or a small group of family and friends out for a morning hike, learn about pack-burro history, and give out-of-town guests a chance to experience New Mexico beyond the resort.
